About Atlas
Welcome to Atlas, Pacific Northwest National Laboratory's comprehensive research data repository designed to support the open sharing, preservation, and discovery of research data and outputs generated by our scientific community. Built on the robust InvenioRDM framework, our platform serves PNNL researchers while providing global access to our scientific datasets for the broader research community.
Our mission is to advance scientific discovery by making PNNL research data FAIR (Findable, Accessible, Interoperable, and Reusable), fostering collaboration with external partners, and ensuring the long-term access of valuable research outputs from our laboratory.

Policies & Guidelines
End-User Terms of Use
Any user downloading data from Atlas must conform to any copyright or license attached to the data.
Atlas Publishing Policy
Authors publishing data on Atlas agreed to the following terms:
- Anyone can download data that has been published to the public interface.
- To upload new data, you must be associated with one or more PNNL funded projects.
- Any data uploaded to Atlas should be directly funded by and relevant to a PNNL project. To affirm relevance and support of the project, all new datasets will be reviewed by one or more curators for each project. If the dataset is associated with more than one project, then the user can select which project does the review during the upload process.
- No data uploaded to Atlas will include the following:
- Protected personally identifiable (PPI) information (e.g., Social Security numbers, financial, or heath data).
- Information subject to U.S. export control regulations (e.g., encryption technology, defense-related data, or other technical information restricted from foreign access).
- Under certain conditions, published datasets can be removed from Atlas. If you published data in Atlas and need it to be removed, please contact rc-support@pnnl.gov with the name of the dataset and the justification. If the dataset was assigned a DOI, then we will retain the DOI and URL of the original object but will replace the content on the dataset landing page with a tombstone page explaining that the dataset has been removed and explaining why. Removing data should be considered an extraordinary action.
- User must attribute the Atlas repository and the Data Owner when they make publicly available research results generated by any use of the Data.
